Change Offline Files Location
Hi.
This has been a recurring problem for centuries now and I have not found a
solution.
I redirect user "My Documents" folders to \\server\share\username and map
it to U: Then for laptop users, I make it available offline. All of that
works great until you move the location of the shared folder from one server
to another. Windows XP continues to attempt to synchronize to the old
\\server\share\username. Likewise, other users though it would be cute to
right click on other mapped network drives and "Make Available Offline"
Once the old server was decommissioned, they would still get reminders of
being offline as well as sync errors while logging off. Aside from
formatting and reloading, here is what I have tried:
Delete offline files cache
locate all references to the old \\server in the registry and remove all
keys and values, specifically HKLM\Software\Microsof\CurrentVersion\NetCache
and Syncmgr.
I am going to be moving 70 users home folder locations soon and I need to
find out how to avoid total chaos.
Thanks in advance
Michael
