Connecting printer

I recently purchased a HP L7680 all in one printer and connected it to my
router. It works fine with the computer I installed the hardware on but
can't seem to find or use it on the network. I tried adding a printer on the
other system where it was not installed as I have for other printers which
are connected to computers on the system. I used the printer wizard for
adding a printer on a home or office network by typing in the IP address
given to it when installed but get error message that it is not able to
connect due to the specified printer not being connected to the server or
named incorrectly. The printer is on so I'm not sure what the problem is?

The L7680 has built-in networking, and you've connected it to your
router. Install it on each computer as a networked printer, using the
HP installation disk.

Thanks loads, I will try this but in the mean time I simply went to other
computer on system and allowed sharing and then went back to the other
computer and went thru wizard sequence to add on that computer. Now I can
print from that computer to the printer. Am I not doing the same thing by
doing this or will some functions not be availible from the other computer?

You're welcome. As you've set it up, the first computer is sharing
the printer, and the other computer is accessing the printer through
the first computer. That has disadvantages:

1. Some functions, such as scanning and computer-based faxing,
probably won't be available on the other computer.

2. The first computer has to be turned on and connected to the network
to allow the other computer to print.

I think it would be better to have each computer access the computer
directly through the network.
