Accessing shared files and printers
I have a desktop (XP Home) and laptop (XP Pro) connected thru a Belkin
router. Internet connection is fine, but I can't seem to be able to access
the shared files and printers from the desktop on my laptop. Firewall on both
systems has been disabled. Workgroup is named the same MSHOME. When I try to
open Windows Network, it shows MSHOME and the two computers, but the desktop
name doesn't show anything. File and Printer sharing are enabled.

File and Printer Sharing is enabled, but have you actually manually
shared the drives, folders, or files on the laptop?

Hi
Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings,
http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html
As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is
allowed to be shared.
