VPN Sign on keeps popping up
Hi,
I connect to the Internet via a router (not wireless) on a cable
modem. I have, occasionally, the need to connect to my place of work
using a VPN connection, which works fine. The problem I have is the
VPN sign in box keeps appearing when I try and browse the Internet,
even though I am connected, using cable, and not VPN. If I close the
VPN sign in box, then all is well, unless I close my browser and re-
open it, I then get the same problem. The only way to stop this is to
delete the VPN connector, and make a new one each time I need to use
VPN, which fortunately is only a couple of times a year at the moment.
However, this is about to change and I do not want the VPN box popping
up when I do not need it. Is there a "tick box" or something I am
missing?
Thanks,
John.

RE: VPN Sign on keeps popping up
I had the same problem. The fix may be just as simple as opening up Internet
Properties in the Control Panel. Choose Connections and then click the Never
Dial a Connection option. Hope this works.

Re: VPN Sign on keeps popping up
Hi,
I will check when I get home, but I think this option is already
selected.

VPN signon keeps popping up while using internet
Despite what browser you are using, you need to start IE and go to Tools - Internet options - Connections.
Propably "Always dial my default connection" will be marked, the connection being your VPN.
Change this to "never dial a connection".

Problem solved.

Have fun.

This "solition" is not true! I seen several PCs where this is set
still request which VPN connection to be "dialed" when this is set.
It seems to be a on-going issue since the first version of XP (no
service pack.)
