There I No basic VPN connection per-se. VPN is an Encryption addition to a
normal existing connection. I.e. the regular traffic is encrypted on one
side and decrypted on the other.
The VPN is maintained only between the two sides of connection that are set
specifically for it.
P.S. If you call the local Wireless security VPN, instead of using the terms
WEP or WPA , this type of secure connection is Not needed and Not used in
Wired connection.
