No network card after installing Windows XP
Hi

I did a full reinstall of Windows XP Pro on a computer infested with
viruses, etc.

During the install, it skipped the part for the Network Settings and it
didn't do the section after the main install where you set up the User
Accounts, etc. The computer had network access before the reinstall.

When the install was done I had no Network Card/Connection in the Hardware
profile list and no LAN Connection in the Network Connection Area.

The network card is a built in connection into the Mother Board and I think
somehow it either isn't recognizing it when XP installs or the drivers got
erased. I tried to find drivers, but couldn't.

I've installed XP numerous times and have never had this happen. Is it just
easier to just buy a new card or is there any thing I'm missing?

Thanks,

Ryan

Re: No network card after installing Windows XP
You may want to download the driver from manufacturer and install it
manually.

Re: No network card after installing Windows XP
Hi
Win XP being rather old OS does not have native drivers for newer
computer/motherboard components.
Log to the support site of the computer/Motherboard Vendor/Manufacturer find
the latest drivers and use them for the installation.
Do not forget to remove the Ghost from the Device Manger.
