conflict when coming out of hibernation

When I come out of hibernation, I'm often presented with a dialog
stating that my IP is in conflict with another machine on the network.
Can someone explain why this is, what the consequence is (doesn't
appear to be any), and what to do about it?

XP Pro, v.2002, SP2
