DUN replacement

Anyone know of a replacement for DUN for XP? My Linux dial-up modem
system dials up much faster and always seems to get a good fast
connection. Windows DUN takes forever and often takes several tries to
get a ~46K connection (fastest I get).

Most people have gone over to an "always on" Internet access (either
DSL or Cable) because the dial-up networks are just too slow.

Unfortunately, no DSL available out here in a rural area. I can get
broadband with cable but have to pay for the TV too. I don't watch TV.

Not sure about your service provider but some offer an enhanced dun
module.

Thanks. I'll look at their web site. BTW, a friend in another group gave
me this URL

Try a search on DUN there. Found several utilities that look good. I
printed out the specs and will maybe try one later. Seems to be a useful
site.
