Bluetooth and PAN
am having problems getting my computers to communicate using bluetooth
PAN.

My configuration is:
(1) A D-Link Bluetooth LAN Access Point.
(2) A laptop, running XP, with a USB BT adaptor.
(3) A brand new Netbook, running XP, with a different brand of USB BT
adaptor.

The laptop (2) can make a PAN connection to the Access Point (1) and browse
the network
The laptop (2) can make a PAN connection to the Netbook (3) and browse its
files.

The Netbook (3) can find and pair with both the laptop (2) and the Access
Point (1) but is unable to get a list of services from either of them.
[The Netbook can locate, pair with and locate the seriel services of my
BT-enabled mobile phone]
When the Netbook (3) is connected to the laptop (3) as a result of
connection from the laptop then it can see the laptop's files.

So the bottom line is that the Netbook cannot determine that the Access
Point (1) and the Laptop (2) have any services to offer and certainly not
PAN so is unable to connect to them. Looks to me like a problem with
settings on the Netbook. Where do I start to resolve the problem?

Any advice welcome.

TIA
Chris

Re: Bluetooth and PAN
Blue Soleil on the laptop.
A different one on the Netbook - the one that came with the Trust BT dongle.

Swapping dongles leaves the problem with the machine and does not transfer
with the dongle.

cheers
Chris

Re: Bluetooth and PAN
Then IMHO you can start to resolve the prob
by contacting the vendor of software bundled
with "Trust BT dongle".
