My documents - Assigning network drive letter
I have a client who uses Sanyo MemoScriber V4 (ICR1000) in which the
software has lost links to the downloaded .WAV files (which remain on the
hard disk).

Sanyo tell me that there is a known problem with Windows using drives
assigned with letters in the lower part of the alphabet. Apparently there
is a Microsoft KB article (which I haven't been able to locate).

Sanyo also tell me that to re-instate the link I need to re-assign My
Documents to the local hard disk - not the network. I should appreciate it
if someone could tell me how to do this.

Many thanks.

Not sure what they're talking about -but if this is a USB attached device,
and you're not getting a drive letter assigned to it in Explorer, check in
Disk Management (control panel | administrative tools | computer management)
and pick a drive letter that isn't in use by your network drives to assign
to it.

Or check out USBDLM (google for it).

Pppphhht. They're high. I'm presuming you're using folder redirection or
manually pointing My Documents at the server....and that's exactly as it
should be if you're on a network. Escalate the support call at Sanyo to
someone who knows what they're talking about.
