Strange new window popping up on my Thinkpad under XP Pro
My laptop has been acting strange lately. When I boot up, a new window
pops open for about 1/2 second (which I was able to capture thanks to
help from a fellow on a newsgroup) which says:

Setting up personalized settings for:

C;\Windows\Isxoc.exe

Well, I could find no program name Isxoc.exe in that directory.

I did a GOOGLE search on that file name, got nothing in return.

Also, now when I go to close Windows, just before leaving the screen,
I get an error window saying something to the effect:

Wait, shutting down Explorer.exe or hit the END NOW key to shut down
immediately. However, I checked by doing CTL-ALT-DELETE, according
to the list of programs running, Explorer.exe is not running.

Any idea of what can be causing these new gremlins? I did try to
install XP SP3 and it crashed, could that be causing the problems?

Any help appreciated.

Jim

Re: Strange new window popping up on my Thinkpad under XP Pro
that should read Lsxoc instead of Isxoc, my mistake. I did find the
file in that directory further down under L, but still no luck with
any results from a Google search.

Also, on closing, the window that pops up says:

Ending Program Explorer.exe Please wait
then a little graph under that shows the progress
of closing down Explorer, which is not running as far
as I know... Strange..

1. Send a copy of Lsxoc.exe to VirusTotal for identification. VirusTotal
will forward the file to numerous antivirus companies and send you back a
report. Come back here with the report.

2. Be sure the computer is clean:
