Taskbar
How do I get direct access onto the taskbar? When I try to drag it from the
desktop (as I did before...) a message appears I cannot do that and the file
(folder) just opens)

One of these?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_access

You can't drag to the Taskbar; it's a display of the running tasks, not
a toolbar.

Right-click/drag to a toolbar, such as the Quick Launch bar, and
release. One option should be to create a shortcut. This should work
if a registered program is on the Desktop and you're unable to move it
to a toolbar.

Right-click on an empty area of the Taskbar and you will get a menu with
Toolbars on it. Slide your cursor over to the right and the Toolbars
submenu will open. Quicklaunch is one of the choices. Left-click on
Quicklaunch to add this toolbar to your Taskbar.
