We have experienced similiar issues after XP3 update of late. Also removed
all forms of Intervideo and Sonic Crapware from new system.
* Did uninstall as described. Checked IDE cable connections (only) as did
not understand moving connection. Reboot reveals ...will not play any type of
media including microsoft disc, music, photo ,or data. Our research found an
old hotfix ...prior XP2 ?, with May 2007 update at >
