IE7 Freezes
I installed IE7 on my XP SP2 Home Edition machine which has a P4 3Ghz Chip
and 1.5Gb Ram. It has recently started to freeze up, causing me to shut it
down with task manager. This started with my home page, which now freezes
up every time I try to open it up. Other miscellaneous web sites open with
no problem, so far. I have read through the numerous articles on MS help
web site, but the problem just comes back after I apply the purported cure.
If I even try to type in the url of my former home page (www.charter.net),
it still freezes. I have flushed the cache and reset all settings. Should
I revert back to IE6 on my XP machine? Any other helpful suggestions on how
I can remedy this would be appreciated.

Dennis

Re: IE7 Freezes
Start your troubleshooting with this:

"Internet Explorer stops responding, stops working, or restarts"
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/pc_ie_intro

For the future: There is a separate newsgroup devoted to all versions of
Internet Explorer (except for beta releases.)

Re: IE7 Freezes
Thanks for the info. I will try the self-help steps listed on the MS Web
site, but could not find a newsgroup devoted specifically to IE7. IE6 shows
to be the latest one I could find. Will let you know if I have any success.
