Add-Remove Missing Change Remove Program and Windows Components Bu
My add/remove dialog now only shows 2 options; add/remove from CD or Floppy
and Windows Updates. The buttons to add/remove programs or change windows
components are not there! I am logged into the administrator account. Help!

Make sure the machine clean from malware and viruses by scanning then run a
disk clean up.

RE: Add-Remove Missing Change Remove Program and Windows Component
Nass , many thanks. Having visited 'kellys-korner' I discovered that:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Uninstall]

Had a value of 1 against the 'NoRemovePage' (Disable Change and Remove) and
'NoWindowsSetupPage (Disable Windows Components Wizard)

Putting a hex value of 0 to these entries restored my add/remove
functionality.

As to what put these lines in the registry in the first place? ......
