Insufficient resources to load user profile
I get the following error message sometimes. At first, it was only 1 out of
20 times I logged on. Now it is almost every time. I haven't installed any
new programs or changed any settings from a few weeks ago when it was working
fine.

"Windows cannot load user's profile but has logged you on with the default
profile for the system.

Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service."

Unlike some other posts, I do NOT get the profile is corrupted message.

Finally, I run Trend Micro antivirus. I've seen some comments at other
sites that this may be a problem However, I've been running Trend Micro for
2 years without an issue.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

RE: Insufficient resources to load user profile
I am having the same issue on two different systems. It is sporadic, but
seems to be increasing. I also haven't installed anything new, and
interestingly, am running Trend Internet Security 2008. Like Ken, I have been
running Trend on both of these systems for a couple of years without issue,
and upgraed to 2008 late last year, so its hard to imagine it is causing the
issue, but I am out of other ideas.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks.

RE: Insufficient resources to load user profile
I am also experiencing the same problems.

1) Trend Micro 2008 Internet Security [direct from TM]
2) Windows XP Home SP3

Probable sequence of events:

1) Trend Micro was updating and installing new software. The installation
stalls. I try to soft-boot the laptop. Soft-boot fails. I power-off/power-on
the laptop.

2) On logon, I get the message 'Windows cannot load the user profile...
insufficient system resources'.

3) It goes to the 'default' profile after I click OK. I do a system restore
and boot again. I do not get the same message, I am able to login properly.

4) I reboot again, then I get the same messages from Windows that it cannot
load my user profile.

5) I do a hard boot (power off/power on) and immediately enter my
credentials on logon. I am able to get into Windows without prompt but I
notice that Trend Micro is attempting another update and receive system error
messages that some TM modules have crashed during update. TM update is
stalling again.

....................

Conclusion: It definitely is TM. I haven't done Windows Updates anytime this
week. This happened sometime Saturday or Sunday.

.....................

I just sent a support request to Trend Micro. See if they can help.

.....................

The user profile is not corrupt. I did a disk clean-up and defrag just t
make sure my disk resources are not full of garbage but I still get the
message.

.....................

Hopefully TM is aware of this. Last TM Signature File July 5th 2008.

RE: Insufficient resources to load user profile

Did anyone ever get the solution to it running insufficient resources? If
so, I need it also, as my computer is experiencing the same difficulty.

Thanks,

Courtney

RE: Insufficient resources to load user profile
Think there is a common theme . . . .

I too upgraded my TM to 2008 on a desktop and a laptop. I only obtain this
message on the desktop though - the laptop works fine.

I too started once in a while, but now it occurs everytime.

Guess I will submit a bug report to TM and remove the program for now -
don't know what else to do . . . . or that this will even fix it.

I spent all fricking night trying to get my comp to work to no avail!!
Think TM will reimburse for lost time and wages?? *sigh*

Thanks for the help though!

I am receiving the same message and also running Trend Micro. Is there a
known solution?

RE: Insufficient resources to load user profile
I am receiving the same messages running XP Pro SP2 and Trend Micro. Like
others, this occurred suddenly after 2 years of running XP Pro fine and after
six months of running this TM product without issue.

I just went througfh a lengthy TM problem solving process due to some
seperate TM related error messages and that now seems fine. During that
process I asked each successive TM Engineer if my user profile issue might be
related and was told "no". Well the user profile issue continues.

My first user profile message was in late May and has been sporatic but
increasingly frequent. At the time of the first message it was preceeded by
a errormessage Ec8F1787 with additional information E7870001:win32/win64/API.
I did a system restore to May 20 and loged on OK. However the issue again
recurred on June 12 and incessantly ever since.

I just contacted TM againbecause I am very suspicious that TM may be the
cause. They sent me an event logging report software that I downloaded, ran
and mailed to them. I am now awaiting a call from a Level 2 Tech (at my
request) that I was told I would receive after the event logs were reviewed.

My confidence in the Tech help is waning. I acknowledge that it could be a
Windows issue or even another corruption issue but my intuition is pointing
to TM.

Any suggestions for a fix will be greatly appreciated!
