Saving pics to CD
Before I go copying my pics (jpg) to a CD I want to make sure the same thing
doesn't happen like before

(I've copied them many times before via Windows XP with no problems.) Then
last time I corrupted all the pics somehow. I can't open them on the CD or my
hard drive. I have all the little icons (not sure what you call them) yet
there is no picture image. When you click the properties there is nothing in
the Summary Properties.

So before I copy to the CD; can I make a copy of the pics in another folder
on my hard drive; this way if the pics get corrupted, I will have the copy?
Will that work?

Thanks
LisaB

Simplify your life--just use a third-party program like Roxio or Nero
to create a *data* CD or DVD with the files/directories you want to back
up.

The "deferred write" CD capability of Windows apparently has some
failure modes that are non-intuitive and non-recoverable.

Re: Saving pics to CD
I have Roxie I think; so I'll try that. In the meanwhile if I copy the pics
will that protect them?

Thanks

Re: Saving pics to CD
Making a new folder and copying them there will protect them just fine.
