can't set meta data on .jpg over local network
I have two WinXP SR2 machines on local area network. Each has a folder
set up for simple network sharing. The problem is present whether I try
to use machine A to modify .jpg file meta data on machine B, or vice
versa. The meta data of the .jpg files can be entered or revised from
the machine on which they are resident (A on A or B on B).
The meta data of MSword97 or MSexcel97 files (for example "subject") CAN
be revised across the network. The meta data of .jpg files (for example
"subject") can NOT be entered or revised. WinXP appears to let you
insert the labels, but the labels don't stick. File sharing is set up
so as to allow files to be modified. The meta data of the .jpg files can
be entered or revised from the machine on which they are resident. The
same problem is present with .pfd files.
Any ideas as to why this is so and how to change it.
