SYSTEM account deleted my printers
Hi Everyone,

I have two computers running XP with various printer drivers installed.
Comp#1 had its drivers deleted around 1am this morning. I went into the
event viewer and it shows the following:

Printer Microsoft XPS Document Writer (from COMPUTER2) is pending deletion.

Could you please advise why did the system account delete my printer? Why
does the log show the deletion originating from computer#2?

Thanks in advance,
D

Re: SYSTEM account deleted my printers
this is the Remote Desktop redirected XPS printer getting deleted from
computer 1 when the remote desktop session from computer 2 was exited.

Re: SYSTEM account deleted my printers
Hi Alan,

Thank you for your post. Computer #1 had a sleuth of local printer drivers
installed (various Ricoh printers including Adobe PDF and Microsoft XPS).
The printer drivers on Computer #1 are identical to Computer #2. To clarify,
are you saying when the user RDP'd into Computer #1 (from Computer #2) and
when they disconnected, the system deleted the local drivers on Computer #1?

If not, could you please advise why the local printer drivers were deleted
from Computer #1 by the system account?

Thanks in advance,
D
