Assign Ne numbers

I administer a network of XP Pro clients connecting to W 2003 SBS server,
where print queues are installed.
When users connect to the domain the printers are connected and Windows
assigns an Ne number for the printer.
However these Ne numbers are assigned differently to each user, as I have
discovered, in the order that they were installed, so that a specific printer
has a different Ne number for different users.
My problem is that within Excel, a macro has been written to automatically
print a specified range and when the macro is created, the Ne number for the
user creating the macro is part of the macro code and it is added as it is
for that user.
However, the file is shared between users across the network and when they
try to print, their Ne number is different and the macro fails.
Is there a way , maybe via logon scripts to the domain, the pre-assign the
Ne numbers for the printers so that all users have the same?
