Default printer

XPSP2 on a Dell Optiplex 210L
Regardless of selected printer as default, the default always returns to an
HP470.
How do I make it remain on the selected default printer?

Windows will default to the first printer it finds on startup.... so if the
default you want is on a network, it will find the local one before you have
completed the network connection.
