XP Fax - How to Extend Time Needed to Connect
I have one of those calling cards that takes awhile to get through the
prompts, but when it finally does, the Windows fax program hangs up because
it took too long to sense a connection and says the line is busy.

What Can I do to extend the time that the fax utility expects to sense
another fax machine?

Thanks much.

Re: XP Fax - How to Extend Time Needed to Connect
Add some commas to the end of the phone number. Each comma procures a 2-3
second pause, add enough to the end of the number to keep the modem occupied
while the line connects.

Re: XP Fax - How to Extend Time Needed to Connect
No - My modem was cutting off before the connection would establish. I
found a registry entry and extended the time to connect to 120 saeconds.
Changed ATS7=60&D2&K4 to ATS7=120&D2&K4.
