Having trouble with 2 updates

I have tried to install 2 recent updates. The XML Core Services 4.0 Service
Pack 2 and XP SP3. Niether one of these update will install. I have tried
them with auto updates and from the web. Please help. What do I do?

Give us more details on what happens when you attempt to install the updates
and what OS/current patches you have, etc.
