security tab in safe mode cannot be accessed on main hard drive
hi

i am trying to solve a problem in safe mode (windows xp home) that requires
access to the security tab in the file properties. however, logging in with
the administrator account (called "Administrator") i can only access the
security tab on the files and folders on my secondary hard drive (volume
E. on my main hard drive (partition C: and D i cannot access the
security settings.

do i somehow not have "ownership" of my primary hard drive? how can i change
that?

kind regards
marco

It sounds like your main hard drive is formatted FAT32 instead of NTFS. You
will not be able to access security settings if this is the case. You can
convert to NTFS easily, but always back up your data first as a precaution.
Read this article before converting:
