repair install won't see install

I'm working on a machine in which the hard drive was in the process of
failing. I Ghosted the as much as I could to a new drive. The new drive
doesn't boot. I want to do a repair install but the installation CD doesn't
recognize the install. I did a fixboot and fixmbr under the ERC and have
looked at the contents of the drive using another machine and found NTLDR,
NTDETECT.COM, and boot.ini in the root directory, and the registry files
under c:\windows\system32\config. Is there anything else I can do get the
repair install to recognize the install? Thanks.
