Copy settings from one XP install dir to another

My registry got corrupted during a sudden power outage and every boot attempt
after that resulted in a BSOD so I reinstalled XP and put it in a new
directory \windows2 so my My docs folder would not be overwritten. What can
I do to have all the menus, user profiles, programs list, preferences, etc
copied from the non working install under \Windows to the working but clean
\Windows2 folder?

Mack,

your method is uncommon, so I cannot offer any advice tuned to
it. But you could look at http://winhlp.com/ and possibly try
the simpler ways first.

I would ignore the new installation and try a repair
installation on the original one first.
