How to move video clips from desktop to Windows Movie Maker

I would like to email DVD video clips through WMM and/or my normal email
prog, Outlook Express. As a new guy on this forum I'd be grateful for any
help with this.

There's a good chance that the file size
of your video clips will exceed the limits
allowed by your and/or your recipient's
e-mail provider.

It may be worth a try to upload the clips
to a site like the following and send the
download link to your recipients so they
can download the files at their own
convienience.

"YouSendIt"
http://www.yousendit.com/

All you have to do is enter an e-mail
address in the "To:" (Recipient) field
and click the "Browse" button to select
the file you wish to upload. Then click
the "Send It" button.

The next screen that appears will give
you the download link. Just copy/paste
it into the message to your recipients
who can download and view the file on
their computer.

Thank you for the help and the yousendit.com lead. I already have accounts
with Photobucket and Putfile. Though their file limits are smaller, seems
they all work about the same. You're right about my file size. Though not
exceeding limits, it comes close! What would you recommend in order to
reduce size of clips-from an editing viewpoint? I don't want to over-load
anybody's inbox!
Also, can you address the problem of not getting video files into WMM
Collections list?

In Movie Maker for example you can save
a movie file for e-mail and the file size is
is reduced. I still prefer to upload the files
as I previously stated because compression
reduces the quality.

I just did an experiment with saving a movie...
I imported a 36.3 MB .avi clip into Movie Maker
and saved it in the .avi format. the finished file
was 64.4 MB. Saving the same file in the default
..wmv format produced a 2.08 MB clip. And..
saving the same exact file for e-mail the finished
file was 1.08 MB.

The point I'm making is that experimentation is
the best way to determine what your best options
are.
