INSTALLING WINDOWS XP SERVICEPACK 3

Everytime
i try to load this update, the PC initializes ok, but fails about
halfway in installing SP3, THEN GOES THRU THE PROCESS OF UNDOING IT ALL.

Help! THOM

Turn off any external devices like a printer or scanner. Do not go online -
disconnect if necessary. Turn off virus scanner, spy sweeper, etc. Try
again - in Safe Mode if necessary.
