Can't connect remotely

Help please, I have used remote assistance many time in the past. For the
last 3 weeks or so when I try to send a request or get one, the request never
displays in the window. If I send one it shows that I did but the person on
the other end never sees that I sent the request and vice versa.
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY?
