Remote Desktop Connecting To Wrong PC
Hello all,

We use Windows SBS 2003, workstations are XP Pro. I have a strange
problem with VPN/Remote Desktop Connection. When connected to VPN
from outside our network, or even connected directly to our network, I
try to Remote to PC013, but it actually connects to PC-0030 (a
completely different PC). If I connect by IP address, it will go to
the correct PC, but not if I use the PC name. Any idea of what might
be causing this?

Thanks,

David

Re: Remote Desktop Connecting To Wrong PC
This is name resolution issue. I would check the record in DNS or WINS if
you have one.

Re: Remote Desktop Connecting To Wrong PC
Bob,

Could you give me a quick run-down of how to do that?

Thanks,

David

Re: Remote Desktop Connecting To Wrong PC
Open DNS manager to check A record and IP address. Make sure they match. Or
this search result may help.
