Remote Destktop not launching

I goofed. I installed SP3 onto my XP Pro SP2 system before reading the
requirements before the install. After installing SP3, I was still able to
connect to the network at work with a VPN Client program, but the network
didn't allow me to connect to my work computer. That's when I realized I had
to unistall remote and some other program before loading SP3. So I did a
restore back to a point before loading SP3. Now my remote desktop doesn't
start up. I tried to reinstall it from the disk but it says that it's
already loaded and it won't reinstall. I tried to find it in the add/remove
programs and it's not listed. All I can find is the shortcut in the
Program>Assesories window and the target is in the windows/sytem32 folder.
How I do in uninstall it? Or is there a better or safer way of fixing this?
I was able to connect to my work computer before SP3.
