Hamachi Security Question
Hamachi 1.0.2.5:

Running on Win 2003 Server

In order to make the Browse feature available, I had to turn off this
setting in the Status and Configuration dialog:
"Block Vulnerable Microsoft Windows Services" .

The Browse feature works now, but I don't know what risk I am taking.
Can anyone comment on this?

Thanks,

Bill N.

Re: Hamachi Security Question
The "risk" you are taking is that everyone on the networks you are
connected to are able to go through your stuff like they would be in
your real lan. Not really a risk if you are not sharing EVERYTHING.
Please uncheck that if you WANT people to access your computer.

Re: Hamachi Security Question
Not really. Since it's running on a server O/S, I can limit the
capabilities of the credentials I give out. Of course, that only works
until someone breaks in, which is what I'm trying to learn about
here...
