Salve,
ho assemblato un nuovo PC con 1 HD SATA (nuovo), e sul canale IDE un HD
300gb master (prelevato da un altro PC) e un masterizzatore DVD slave (nuovo).
Il sistema operativo è Windows XP Pro SP3.
All'avvio viene visualizzato il seguente messaggio:
"We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully.
A recent hardware or software change might have caused this.

If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was
automatically shut down to protect your files and folders, choose Last Known
Good Configuration to revert to the most recent settings that worked.

If a previous startup attempt was interrupted due to a power failure or
because the Power or Reset button was pressed, or if you aren't sure what
caused the problem, choose Start Windows
Normally.

Safe Mode
Safe Mode with Networking
Safe Mode with Command Prompt

Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked) Start
Windows Normally

Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight to your choice.

Seconds until Windows starts: 30"
Le opzioni proposte (provate tutte) non producono alcun effetto in quanto
viene sempre visualizzato lo stesso messaggio con un loop infinito.
Le azioni intraprese sono state in sequenza:
disinstallare il masterizzatore e lasciare solo il disco IDE dopo alcuni
tentativi XP si avvia ma non sempre nei riavvii succesiivi;
disinstallare Il disco IDE e il masterizzatore, XP non si avvia al primo
tentativo ma a quelli (n) successivi, quasi per caso.
Si ha l'impressione che ci sia qualche conflitto tra i controller SATA e IDE
o che non sia possibile utilizzare sul canale IDE due dispositivi anche se
configurati master e slave.
Chiedo aiuto a chi ha giÃ* riscontrato tale problema e come risolverlo.

Si, il BIOS è stato aggiornato ieri!
