Ex-Googlers Want to Change RSS for the Better

The founders of social networking service FriendFeed want to improve RSS,the current standard for publishing website content to subscribers. Theirproposal, called the Simple Update Protocol (SUP), would provide more timelyupdates and allow readers to get the news they care about faster and moreefficiently.
